He was really vocal and made a point to throw the ball out quickly when the full-backs were free! His flying save in the first half was basically the closest the Czechs came to scoring!
KYLE WALKER – 7
Walks was dominant down the right, not letting anything past him and starting attacks! It was a much better display than his Euro opener against Croatia!
JOHN STONES – 7
Another dependable display from the City centre-back! He was solid in the air and carried the ball up the pitch when there was space. Came off for the last 20 minutes!
HARRY MAGUIRE – 8
Was rock-solid on his return from a long injury layoff! He played a class through ball for Harry Kane in the first half that set the striker away and a made solid block at the other end a few minutes later.
LUKE SHAW – 7.5
Lifted a wicked through ball for Raheem Sterling to run on to in the opening exchanges! Got forward really well and gave the Czech defence something else to worry about!
KALVIN PHILLIPS – 7
The Leeds hero linked up well down the left with Bukayo Saka for the opener! He showed some classy touches to bring the ball down and orchestrated the midfield!
DECLAN RICE – 5
Czech Republic didn’t look too worried about attacking, so it was a pretty simple shift for the defensive midfielder! Was taken off at half-time for Jordan Henderson!
JACK GREALISH – 7
In Mason Mount’s absence, the Villa captain was the creative hub for England! He repaid the faith shown in him by Gareth Southgate with an assist and an all-round classy display that had the supporters signing his name and booing when he was taken off!
BUKAYO SAKA – 8
Saka didn’t look like a man making his major tournament debut! The Arsenal wonderkid was heavily involved in the build up to the opener and made loads of driving runs at the defence. He played with no fear! Man Of The Match
RAHEEM STERLING – 7
Made a great run behind in the first three minutes and was unlucky to hit the woodwork from a cheeky lob! He made no mistake with his header at the back post later that half. It was a predator’s finish from the City forward!
HARRY KANE – 6
Captain Kane looked a bit more like his normal self, holding the play up better and working himself a decent chance midway through the first half! Still not off the mark…
JORDAN HENDERSON – 6
Came on at half-time for Rice. His high-press helped England win the ball back near the Czech goal a couple of times and had a goal ruled out!
JUDE BELLINGHAM – 6
He hounded out the Czech players whenever they had the ball near him and supported the attack when he could!
MARCUS RASHFORD – 6
Looked lively whenever he got on the ball and worked hard tracking back for his side!
