MATCH rates how the England players performed in their semi-final clash with Denmark at Wembley!
JORDAN PICKFORD – 5
Going into the game off the back of five straight clean sheets, you would’ve thought Pickford’s confidence would’ve been sky high – but he looked nervy and shaky! Saying that, there was nothing he could do about the opener…
KYLE WALKER – 9
Walks used his incredible pace to save England’s skin a few times throughout the game! He definitely won his head-to-head with Denmark’s star of the tournament Joakim Maehle!
HARRY MAGUIRE – 9
Maguire put on another defensive masterclass and had a header just clawed out by the outstanding Kasper Schmeichel! He seemed unlucky to receive a yellow for challenging for a header…
JOHN STONES – 8
Stones looked settled once again alongside Maguire, distributed the ball quickly and was strong in the tackle!
LUKE SHAW – 6.5
You’d expect ‘Shawberto Carlos’ to be rocketing free-kicks into the back of the net, but instead he was giving them away! His foul on Andreas Christensen handed Denmark the free-kick for their opener, but he did get forward well at times too!
DECLAN RICE – 7
The West Ham man made some important challenges and tracked back well to snuff out Denmark counter attacks! Replaced in extra-time.
KALVIN PHILLIPS – 7
For the first time this tourno, Phillips looked a bit timid in the first half! He grew into the game big time after the break and provided one of the touches of the tournament!
MASON MOUNT – 6.5
It wasn’t Mount’s most influential performance but he definitely worked hard for his side and found some dangerous pockets between Denmark’s midfield and defence! Replaced in extra-time.
BUKAYO SAKA – 7
Gareth Southgate trusted the Arsenal wonderkid to start over Jadon Sancho and he repaid the faith with an assist for England’s first goal! He was subbed replaced by Jack Grealish in the 68th minute!
RAHEEM STERLING – 7
He was electric at times and his mazy run won the penalty, but it just wasn’t his night in front of goal! He missed two really decent chances in the first half and even had a tap-in robbed off him by Simon Kjaer!
HARRY KANE – 7
Kane twice set up Sterling in the opening period and dropped deeper than in previous games to really get into the game! It was his beautiful side-rule pass that set Saka away for the leveller and then he scored the penalty rebound!
JACK GREALISH – 6
Came on just under the 70-minute mark to loud applause! He was actually a bit disappointing, lacking accuracy with his final pass and was then taken off in extra-time!
JORDAN HENDERSON – 6.5
Came on in the first half of extra-time and was lovely and composed!
PHIL FODEN – 6.5
Also came on in the first half of extra-time but didn’t get too much into the game!
KIERAN TRIPPIER – 6
Replaced Grealish to steady England’s ship in a change of formation!
