Former ENGLAND centre-back RIO FERDINAND chats through some of the big talking points ahead of the European Championship!

SOUTHGATE'S SQUAD!

RIO SAYS: “The players are definitely together – they look like a really close-knit group! A lot of the young players have come through the youth system together, which has been quite important. I feel their messages they put out are all united and that’s a good sign!”

ENGLAND'S CHANCES?

RIO SAYS: “I think England will have a decent one. I want to look at England when they get out of the group and see what their road to the final looks like – then I’ll make a decision on it!”

France

THE FAVOURITES?

RIO SAYS: “I think France are favourites! I think their second team would probably go close to winning this tournament as well! They’ve got that much strength in depth. Portugal I think will be there or there abouts, Germany as well. But France I think are the standout team!”

Belgium, Rio Ferdinand

THE FLOPS?

RIO SAYS: “I think Belgium have always had big hopes with the player’s they’ve got – it’s a fantastic group of players but they just never seem to get it done! They could be a team we’ve got expectations for that don’t quite live up to them!”
