MATCH takes a look at how the leagues are shaping up heading into the final five months of the season!

Juventus have won the last nine league titles, so there’s a big reason everyone’s getting excited about somebody different winning Serie A! After 14 league matches, Juve were down in fifth spot, below fellow title challengers Napoli, Roma, Inter and AC Milan. Stefano Pioli’s AC were also the last team in Europe’s top five leagues to remain unbeaten!

There are some huge names battling it out to be Serie A’s top goalscorer, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Ciro Immobile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lautaro Martinez! You get the feeling that whoever scores the most goals will also help their team win the league title!

Atletico Madrid are on the hunt for their first La Liga title since 2013-14! Luis Suarez has been playing with fire in his belly after Barcelona let him leave last summer, and his link up play with Joao Felix has been one of the highlights of the season! City rivals Real Madrid aren’t far behind, though!

We can’t remember the last time Barcelona looked so far off the pace! A lot of that is down to the fact that footy legend Leo Messi hasn’t been his usual free-scoring self this season, while Ansu Fati has also been out injured for a while! Surprise sides Real Sociedad and Villarreal are still in the race for a CL spot!

When Mauricio Pochettino took charge of PSG earlier this month, they were sitting in third spot behind Lyon and Lille! It’s definitely been the most open Ligue 1 title race for a few seasons, but the reigning champs are still favourites to bag their eighth league title in nine years!

Kylian Mbappe has finished as France’s top goalscorer in the last two seasons, and he’s chasing a hat-trick in 2020-21! By mid-January he was top of the charts with 12 goals from 13 league matches, averaging a goal every 68 minutes, but he needs to be wary of Reims striker Boulaye Dia!

Table toppers Bayern Munich are once again the team to beat in the Bundesliga, but the likes of RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen aren’t far behind! We’ve been a bit disappointed with Borussia Dortmund, who’d already dropped nine points behind Bayern after 14 league games!

There’s just no stopping the Robert Lewandowski goal train – he’s on a one-way ride to the Golden Boot! Lewa busted 19 league goals in his first 13 games, averaging a net-buster every 57 minutes. Erling Haaland was the second player to reach double digits, but his injury set him back big time!

There are the usual suspects near the top of the Dutch table – massive rivals Ajax and PSV have been battling it out for top spot all season, while Feyenoord and Vitesse have also managed to remain within touching distance! This title race could go down to the wire!

For the last four seasons, the top two teams in Portugal have been Porto and Benfica – but Sporting are fighting hard to break the mould in 2020-21! They were undefeated after 12 matches this season, and top of the table, so things are looking brighter for Bruno Fernandes’ old team!

After winning their first-ever league title in 2019-20, Istanbul Basaksehir have totally flopped in 2020-21! They’re struggling near the bottom of the table, while usual giants Besiktas, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are locked in a battle at the top of the charts!
