Fantasy Premier League expert Abdul Rehman picks out the best captains for Gameweek 4 – the king and the differential!

Fixture: Newcastle (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “The return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Premier League and Man. United is causing havoc among FPL managers, and rightly so! He’s one of the best players to ever step on the pitch and his goalscoring record speaks for itself. He comes in at a price of £12.5m – the joint most expensive player in the game!

In his last three seasons for Juventus, he’s scored 101 goals and recorded 22 assists in 134 games! That’s quite staggering especially as he’s now 36 years old. Although not at the peak of his powers, he’s still very much performing at an elite level.

In Gameweek 4, he restarts his career for The Red Devils against Newcastle at Old Trafford. The Toon have got off to a poor start this season conceding eight goals (18th) and 11 big chances (19th). These stats really don’t bode well for Steve Bruce’s men…

Man. United, on the other hand, have scored seven goals (2nd), with 30 shots in the box (5th). Another factor to take into consideration is that there’s a very high chance that he takes penalty and free kick duties off Bruno Fernandes (£12.1). If he starts against Newcastle, I think he’s the best captain for Gameweek 4!”

Fixture: Burnley (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “If you’re looking for a differential captain then look no further than the Everton forward. He’s got off to a great start this season scoring in each of his opening three fixtures. He has managed seven shots on target (1st), 11 shots in the box (2nd) and four big chances!

Everton face Burnley at home in Gameweek 4 which is looking like a really plum fixture. In the first three games The Toffees have managed 19 shots on target (3rd) and 28 shots in the box (6th), while actually scoring seven goals (2nd). This puts them in the top five attacking teams in the league!

The Clarets have been one of the worst defensive sides in the league so far. They’ve conceded 41 shots in the box (20th), 19 shots on target (20th) and eight big chances (18th).

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin the main man in the Everton attack, and with him now the number one penalty taker, he is a great differential captain shout for Gameweeek 4!

Also a stat that stood out to me was that he scored the most headed goals last season (7) with the also the most headed attempts at goal (33). Burnley have conceded the most headed attempts at goal (15), so far this season so don’t be surprised if Dominic nods one in!”
