Fantasy Premier League expert Abdul Rehman picks out the best captains for Gameweek 5 – the king and the differential!

THE KING

MOHAMED SALAH (£12.5m) – LIVERPOOL

Fixture: Crystal Palace (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “Mohamed Salah yet again put up another great display with a goal in a 3-0 victory over Leeds in Gameweek 4! That brings his tally to three goals and two assists in four games, with 13 Shots in the Box (3rd), eight shots on target (1st) and 12 chances created (4th).

Liverpool face Crystal Palace in Gameweek 5 which looks to be one of the standout fixtures of the week. Liverpool boast the best attacking stats in the league, scoring nine goals (3rd) with 34 shots on target (1st), 70 shots in the box (1st) and 14 big chances (2nd).

Palace have actually been quite good at the back, however I just feel Liverpool are going to be too strong for them especially at home. We can see from Salah’s stats that he is still the best FPL option in the game and will no doubt be one of the highest captained players this week. The Egyptian King is a lock captain for me this week!”

FERRAN TORRES (£7.2m) – MAN. CITY

Fixture: Southampton (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “The Spanish international has started every game so far this season! He has scored two goals and an assist and is putting up some impressive numbers also with ten shots in the box and three big chances. We all know it’s a dangerous game picking Man. City attackers in our FPL teams but sometimes a calculated risk has to be taken…

Pep Guardiola has stated many times that he will continue to pick the players who are performing well and so far has been true to his word. The fact that Torres played all three games in the international break and still started in Gameweek 4 should fill his owners with a bit of confidence.

Also, he is currently their best finisher, which is why Pep has been playing him upfront. With Gabriel Jesus (£9.0m) shifted to the wing, it seems Torres doesn’t have much competition in spearheading City’s attack.

Man. City come up against Southampton at home in Gameweek 5 which on paper looks like it should be a big win for the Blues. City have scored 11 goals (1st) with 56 shots in the box (2nd) and 15 big chances (1st).

If Ferran Torres starts, there is potential for a massive haul! The question is, are you brave enough to trust him with the armband?”
