Fantasy Premier League expert Abdul Rehman picks out the best captains for Gameweek 7 – the king and the differential!

THE KING

ROMELU LUKAKU (£11.7m) – CHELSEA

Fixture: Southampton (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “Romelu Lukaku has three goals in his first five league appearances for Chelsea, although he has blanked the last two v Spurs (A) and Man. City (H)!

Since his first match in Gameweek 2, he’s registered 14 shots in the box (4th) and six shots on target (4th). The Belgian has also created nine chances and two big chances!

Chelsea play Southampton at home in Gameweek 7, which looks to be a very enticing fixture for The Blues. The Saints have conceded 48 shots in the box (14th) and 12 big chances (15th)!

Despite Chelsea’s tough opening schedule, they’ve still scored 12 goals (3rd). This has been coupled with 51 shots in the box (6th) and 12 big chances (3rd).

Lukaku will be Chelsea’s talisman this season. His stats over the last few seasons show he is an elite option with both goal and assist threat and that makes him the best captain option this week!”

THE DIFFERENTIAL

MARCOS ALONSO (£5.9m) – CHELSEA

Fixture: Southampton (H)

ABDUL SAYS: “Chelsea have kept four clean sheets (2nd) after six games and only conceded two goals (2nd). They have been solid at the back as expected and the only teams they have conceded against were Liverpool and Man City!

The Blues have their most favourable fixture since Gameweek 1 (Crystal Palace) and they are also the favourites to keep a clean sheet this week at 50%. Marcos Alonso has emerged this season as the first choice left-back which most were probably not expecting. He is a fantastic FPL asset when he starts with bags of attacking threat.

This season he already has a goal and an assist with six shots in the box, four shots on target and 12 chances created. It’s always risk captaining a defender but, with how good Chelsea are at the back and how attacking Alonso is, coupled with a nice home fixture, he’s a good pick if you wanted to take a risk!”
