Fantasy Premier League expert Abdul Rehman picks out the best captains for Gameweek 8 – the king and the differential!
MOHAMED SALAH (£12.7m) – LIVERPOOL
Fixture: Watford (A)
ABDUL SAYS: “There are simply no words to describe Mohamed Salah this season! He has been absolutely phenomenal, notching six goals and four assists in his first seven games. The Egyptian has only blanked once and managed to secure four double-digit hauls.
Salah has had 23 shots in the box (1st), 16 shots on target (1st) and eight big chances (1st). He has also created four big chances (2nd). These numbers are scarily good and make him a must-have in our teams.
Liverpool face Watford in Gameweek 8. The Hornets have conceded ten goals (16th), which puts them in the top five worst defences in the league.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are going to be strong favourites for this game. I can’t see anything other than a comfortable win here for The Reds and, with the form the Egyptian is in at the moment, he is the likeliest to get a big haul here!”
KEVIN DE BRUYNE (£11.9m) – MAN. CITY
Fixture: Burnley (H)
ABDUL SAYS: “Kevin De Bruyne seems to be edging back to full fitness after playing his first 90 minutes of the season last gameweek!
He also picked up his first goal in only his second start. Looking at the Belgian’s stats and output over the last few years, we all know he is a great FPL asset. He has 19 goals and 35 assists over his last two campaigns!
Man. City have the best fixture of the gameweek as they welcome Burnley to the Etihad. City have scored 31 goals in the last eight meetings with Burnley, with the last two at the Etihad ending in 5-0 wins. They really do enjoy playing against Sean Dyche’s side!
Another thing to note is that, without Riyad Mahrez on the pitch, KDB is likely to be the penalty taker too. He’s only owned by a mere 2.1% of FPL managers, so is a major differential and can shoot you up the ranks if it pays off!”
