FIFA 21 is here! MATCH has been keeping on top of all of the latest news for months now, so we can give you the ultimate lowdown on the mind-blowing new game…

In case you’ve been living under a rock all summer, Kylian Mbappe is the face of this year’s epic new game! Unlike FIFA 20, which had three different cover athletes for each edition, the PSG megastar features on the cover of every edition of FIFA 21. Legend!

It was one of our favourite game modes on FIFA 20, and it’s back even better than before! EA have added some huge new features like Volta Squads which is a new way for you and your mates to play online together. Wicked!

There’s also a new Volta gameplay mode called ‘The Debut’ which includes some massive names, including footy legend Kaka! Whilst building and improving your squad, you can to discover new locations, create a unique character and earn rewards!

One thing that we’ve never seen on FIFA is real-life referees… that’s until now! Previously EA have filled the game with unknown officials, but you’ll now spot some of the most well-known refs in the game, including the likes of Mike Dean!

If you find yourself scrolling through Serie A looking for Roma, you’re out of luck – they can only be found on PES this year, just like rivals Juventus! On FIFA they’ve been renamed Roma FC, and we’re gutted that we won’t be able to check out any of their wicked kits either!

You have way more control over how your attacking players move in this year’s game! The Creative Runs feature allows you to influence how your AI teammates move off the ball, increasing your chances of being able to breakdown your opponent’s defence, but it’s hard to master. Do yourself a favour and play a few games offline before testing yourself online!

We spent loads of time trying to master crossing on FIFA 20, but we couldn’t quite manage it! We’re buzzing that EA have added three new ways to cross onto this year’s game to boost our chances. One of the main additions is Trent Alexander-Arnold’s trademark Whipped Cross!

Agile Dribbling is another big change that EA have been talking about all summer. It’s a new way for you to keep close control of the ball and help you get on the attack. Once you’ve mastered it you’ll be able to leave defenders on the floor with some fancy footwork. Nice!

FIFA 21 is gonna be more realistic than it’s ever been before! One of the main ways that EA have guaranteed that is by creating new animation systems to better decide how players interact physically with each other! We’re hoping this reduces the amount of chaotic situations in and around the box!

Do you ever wish you had the opportunity to replay big moments of a match? Well… you’re in luck! If you miss a sitter, or accidentally get one of your players sent off for a bad tackle, you’ll be able to replay the scenario with Gameplay Rewind! You can rewind as many times as you like, but you can’t rewind to get back to an earlier point than your original replay!

EA have been working hard on giving players far greater variety when sending through a defence-splitting pass, which is why they’ve added a new ‘long’ through ball option! FIFA 21 is now far better at understanding what is required to pick out the attacker with a through ball!

If you get wound up easily when your opponents waste time, then you’ll be buzzing to know that tons of cut scenes will now be auto-skipped to allow for quicker, more seamless online gameplay! EA have also decided to remove some of the most infuriating celebrations!

The ‘Financial Takeover’ option for Career Mode has previously been purchasable in the EASFC Catalogue… but now it’s available to everyone for free! Whether you want to give your club a whopping £500m budget or start with next to nothing, you can customise your experience how you want to!

Just like in Volta and FUT, there’s loads of cool new features on Career Mode too! One of the biggest changes is the introduction of the new Interactive Match Sim! EA have been working hard to come up with a new way to experience matches and, for the first time, you’ll be able to jump in and out of the action at any given moment. Get in!

It’s been one of the most requested features over the last few years – so we’re buzzing that you can now tailor certain players into a different position! You’ll be able to use the Player Conversion System to train young players in a totally new role, or allow older players to move into a position which is less physically demanding. Wicked!

It remains one of the most important aspects of Career Mode, so we’re excited about the improvements made to transfers! The modern day transfer market has been going through some changes in recent years and EA have recognised that by adding new options such as loan to buy deals. You better get negotiating!

Do you like to feel in full control of your squad? Team Schedule Planning means that you can now control what your players do every day of the season – this helps you monitor match sharpness, fitness levels and morale! If you fancy yourself as a good man manager – then you’ll love this new feature!

In the past, you’ve been able to play against your mates in Ultimate Team, but now you’ll be able to team up with them competitively! You can join forces in both Division Rivals and Squad Battles to earn weekly progress, and work towards brand new Co-op Objectives!

If you’re a big fan of customising your Ultimate Team, then you’ll love this year’s game! You can make your club more unique than ever before with a range of new and expanded ways to customise the look of both the pitch and the stands. Awesome!

If you’re concerned about losing your progress when you upgrade to one of the new consoles in November – then you’ve got nothing to worry about! One FUT Club enables FUT Clubs to carry over from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X and back again with cross-gen transfer markets and leaderboards!

Man. United fans have been calling for it for ages, but finally Eric Cantona has arrived as an Icon on FUT! The legendary forward is joined by Prem legends Fernando Torres and Nemanja Vidic, plus loads of others – but we’re mainly buzzing about The King!
