MATCH gets to know the rock-solid EVERTON defender!
HERO GROWING UP!
GABBY SAYS: “I love Usain Bolt as I did athletics until I was 15 years old! In football, I loved Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic – I couldn’t pick one without the other!”
GABBY SAYS: “I think I would’ve stuck to athletics and maybe tried to take that path! I was sports mad as a child and never dreamt of another job, although I did want to be a shop keeper to sit at the till and pass the items through, but I do that on the self service now – so best of both worlds!”
GABBY SAYS: “I think my footballing strength is my power and pace! My weakness? Well that’s a secret!”
GABBY SAYS: “I’m going to have to say my phone, especially while we’re in lockdown – I like spending time with my friends and family, and I couldn’t imagine not being able to FaceTime them right now!”
PROUDEST CAREER MOMENT?
GABBY SAYS: “I actually have two – being the first-ever professional footballer at Everton and also making my England debut!”
FAVOURITE EVER GOAL?
GABBY SAYS: “My favourite ever goal has to be my extra-time winner against Bristol City in the FA Cup – it’s my favourite competition, and we made the final in my first season at the club, so it’s special to me!”
GABBY SAYS: “My favourite food is a good old Caribbean dish – jerk chicken, rice and peas, with coleslaw on the side! I can’t stand Brussels sprouts – I hate them!”
GABBY SAYS: “I used to be ranked No.1 in the north west for 200 metres!”
