MATCH gets to know the awesome EVERTON goalkeeper!
HERO GROWING UP!
KIRSTIE SAYS: “Definitely Manuel Neuer – he interests me a lot! He’s different to all English goalkeepers – off his head and quite crazy, and I like that!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “I love helping animals. I’ve always been the kid who comes home to my mum with a stray cat or dog asking to keep them, so I’d say a vet. But I don’t have the brains for that, and I’m bit of a people’s person, so I’d love to be a carer!”
BEST FOOTY FRIEND!
KIRSTIE SAYS: “Chaney Boye-Hlorkah. I’ve been brought up in Liverpool, so I’m technically a Scouser, and we just have similar upbringings and morals. We just get each other and on the same wave length with the same ambitions in football – to become internationals one day!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “Definitely my dog Nala. I can’t imagine not scheduling my life around her walk times now, and don’t know what I did before I had her. She follows me everywhere, but I think it’s more that she can’t live without me – but I’m fine with that!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “My strength is my distribution. I’ve always been comfortable with the ball at my feet because, for years at Everton, we didn’t have a set goalkeeper coach, so I joined in a lot of outfield sessions. My other strength is reactions. I’m pretty alert to close range shots!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “I messed about a lot and liked to be a bit of a joker, but somehow always came out of exams with a good score. I got two Bs and five Cs. PE was definitely my favourite subject – I don’t think I ever missed a lesson!”
PROUDEST CAREER MOMENT?
KIRSTIE SAYS: “Probably playing for all the England age groups, up to the U23s. I would say reaching the semi-finals of the Euros for the Under 17s!”
FAVOURITE EVER SAVE?
KIRSTIE SAYS: “It was probably against Arsenal when we had David Unsworth as manager for a game. I just wanted to impress everyone, including him, and must’ve made about 15 saves that game, but definitely the close header from Vivienne Miedema, which I pushed onto the bar!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “I literally never watch TV, so I would say it’s going to the gym and doing classes such as ‘abs blast’ and ‘HIIT!”
KIRSTIE SAYS: “I’m a black belt in karate!”
