We catch up with the MAN. UNITED and ENGLAND left-back to grill him with questions from MATCH readers. Get in!

Did you always believe you could come back and beat PSG? From: Harry

LUKE SAYS: “To be honest, yeah! I said to Lee Grant, ‘We’re gonna win this tonight’, and obviously it happened! Everyone doubted us, and that gave us more belief – it hurts to be written off. It was mainly due to the injuries we had, but that helped us in a way, because maybe PSG thought it wouldn’t be too hard a match!”

How crazy were the celebrations after the game in Paris? From: Kelly

LUKE SAYS: “It was a really special night for everyone at the club, and one of my best experiences in a United shirt. To see all the fans go so crazy after the match was the best feeling, and the celebrations were unbelievable! Everyone was joining in, jumping around, dancing, singing – even the owners were involved too!”

You’ve played against Ronaldo and Mbappe this season – who’s better? From: Danny

LUKE SAYS: “I don’t know, they’re different! Mbappe’s unbelievably fast, and he did try to knock it past me one time, but I was confident he wouldn’t blitz me. Ronaldo is different to how he used to play, but he’s still phenomenal. He’s been one of the best in the world for ten years, so playing against him is something to look forward to – you want to test yourself against the best!”

Who’s the best player that you’ve ever played against? From: Alfie

LUKE SAYS: “For me, Messi’s the best player in the world, so I have to pick him. But my toughest direct opponent has always been Victor Moses –  I’ve always said that. He’s so direct and strong, and when I first played him I was young and inexperienced. I always remember that being a very tough match!”

Who’s the best player that you have ever played with? From: Max

LUKE SAYS: “Paul Pogba. In the last few months he’s proven why Man. United bought him. He’s got everything, the complete player, and his goals and assists are just amazing. What I love most about him is how hard he works, and he doesn’t let anyone else cut corners. If he doesn’t feel you’re giving it everything, he’s straight into you!”

What made you sign for Man. United back in 2014? From: Hasan

LUKE SAYS: “Everyone knows United is the biggest club in the world, but also I felt there were more opportunities here. Patrice Evra was leaving, so I felt there was more of a chance of playing. There were other clubs, but when United came into the picture there was nothing else to decide. It’s not until you come here, and see the supporters all over the world, that you realise how big a club it is!”

How has Ole Gunnar Solskjaer improved the team? From: Will

LUKE SAYS: “He knows the club so well that he knew exactly what was needed when he came in. He hasn’t changed a massive amount, but he’s got amazing staff with him and he’s brought in that positive attacking style. His man-management’s second to none and, as players, we have a lot of respect for him for that.”
