DAKA SAYS: “There have been a lot of players I’ve looked up to! Most of them were Zambians because I wasn’t yet exposed to European football. I don’t have one specific player that has been inspiring me, but I remember looking at players like Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez, Chicharito. Just looking at how I can be able to help myself by watching what they do!”

DAKA SAYS: “I think my best attributes are my speed, my intelligence in reading the game and the movements that I make with and without the ball. It’s also that killer instinct that I always try to improve. It’s not yet perfect, but I just try to improve it every day because the final product has to be good!”

DAKA SAYS: “It gives opportunities to young talents, regardless of where they come from. It’s just a good club for a player to start from because a lot of players, like, for example [Sadio] Mane, Naby Keita, [Takumi] Minamino, and [Erling] Haaland have all been here. They were all exposed to big competitions and they have ended up joining bigger clubs than Red Bull!!”

DAKA SAYS: “It was easy to play with him because he’s a great person. The relationship off the pitch was so good that it was easy on the pitch too. We were trying to help each other and help the team. He was always there to support his teammates and be there for the team. I think being a team player is one of the greatest abilities that he has!”

DAKA SAYS: “I think I just want to do the best that I can in the way that I can, because we possess different abilities. At the end of the day, you cannot force something that is not for you. I can only be the best version of myself, like he is being the best version of himself. You can only be inspired by someone, and learn from what they’re doing, and not want to be them!”

DAKA SAYS: “I’ve really learned a lot because the Champions League games are just another level! There is pressure, but at the same time, it’s fun because you are playing against top players and you want to be like them. It’s been a great experience and it’s the kind of level that I always want to play at, because it helps to develop your skill, your intelligence and everything in your game!”

DAKA SAYS: “It was a special moment. Playing against them, wow, I don’t know how to describe the feeling, but it was amazing. It was great. I felt more connected playing against a club that I grew up supporting. I just wanted to make it a memorable moment for me, because I never imagined it would come so quick!”

DAKA SAYS: “I hope to play at the highest level for as long as I can. My biggest dream is just to be a player who is going to inspire a lot of people and give hope to the less privileged. It’s not necessarily about going to play for the biggest club or to win awards, I just want to use this career to inspire other people!”

DAKA SAYS: “Winning the UEFA Youth League. It was the first year that I came here, and I was given the opportunity to go and play in this tournament. I’ve won the Bundesliga, but lots of players have already done that here. Players who have gone, and players who are yet to come are going to win it, but the UEFA Youth League was something special for the club because they had never won it before!”
