Barcelona goal king Luis Suarez is a total expert at The Scissors – he uses it to create space either side of opponents in front of him.
It’s a useful 1 v 1 move in and around the penalty box when space is tight and defending pressure is high!
CREATE SHOOTING OPPORTUNITIES!
This move helps create space for a shot as you approach the goal. You feint the defender one way, then move into the space you’ve created and unleash a rocket into the top corner! Rashford did this against West Ham in the FA Cup last season! Check out our tips how to do it below!
BALL MASTERY – OUTSIDE CUT SINGLE SCISSOR
- Moving forward slowly, take a small diagonal touch to the right with the outside of your right foot.
- Then perform a scissors action around the ball with your right foot – like when doing a stepover.
- Now do the above actions with your left foot and repeat, alternating with each foot.
MIRROR MOVES – THE SCISSORS
- Step around the front of the ball using a scissors action – like when doing a stepover.
- As your foot touches the ground, use the outside of your opposite foot to take the ball in the other direction.
- Now transfer your weight in that direction and move away from your opponent!
MIRROR MOVES – THE SCISSORS DRAG
- Step around the front of the ball using a scissors action – like when doing a stepover.
- As your foot touches the ground, use the inside of your opposite foot to take the ball in the SAME direction.
- Now accelerate away and leave your opponent choking on your dust!
